Hostrocks in the AW-19 area consist of Jurassic Hazelton Group sedimentary rocks. To the west are found trachyte, trachyte pyroclastics, felsic rocks and black argillites interbedded with grey andesitic tuffs and flows. A belt of northerly trending, maroon pyroclastic rocks and flows is also present; included in this sequence are crystal lithic tuffs, tuff breccia, coarse lapilli tuffs and thin beds of ash and fine lapilli tuff. Extensive and pervasive carbonate alteration is very common in the maroon pyroclastics and flows.

During the 2016 exploration program a total of 218 rock samples were collected. The program was focused on Ataman zone (104A 179) just southwest of Surp 6 showing (104A 192). A quartz vein, about 7 to 8 centimetres wide, containing 3 to 5 per cent pyrite assayed 5 grams per tonne gold, 28.6 grams per tonne silver and 0.088 per cent lead (Sample AW-19, Assessment Report 36401). The strike of the vein was 0 degrees dipping 020 degrees west.
